Just over a year ago, a unique coffee shop with a unique name, Pamplemousse Project, opened in White Plains. Gary Kris, a local entrepreneur, and his wife had a brilliant vision for their coffee shop. They envisioned a place where people of all ages could come together, enjoy great coffee, and make a positive impact on the community at the same time. On the outside, The Pamplemousse Project is just like any other coffee shop, a place where people go to buy coffee. However, the shop’s specialty lies in the fact that 100% of the proceeds from the purchases from the shop go to various charities in the local community. Gary and his wife ensure the money the patrons spend on anything in the shop goes to a worthwhile cause. With this, customers are given a chance to make a meaningful impact on their community by simply buying a coffee, a smoothie, a cookie or a candy.
